Hey everyone and happy week 8! Hopefully you all are still thriving and midterms haven't been too rough on y'all! At this week's meeting instead of doing an academic and informational meeting, we took some time to destress and create Rorschach T-shirts! All of our members created such fun and unique shirts and we had a great time relaxing and creating these with everyone. Next week's meeting will be a REU panel of students who attended REU's this past summer! What is an REU? It's a "Research Experience for Undergraduates" that are typically held at various university campuses over the summer. Come to this meeting to find out more information about how to find a program for you, the requirements, and the application process. See you at next week's meeting!

Hey everyone hope you're all having a great week 7! At this weeks meeting we had the amazing opportunity to have some faculty come to our open forum style meeting so we were able to ask them questions! Some of these questions were about topics such as graduate school experience and the steps they took to get to where they are.
The faculty at the meeting included
We hope you enjoyed this style meeting and the insight that the faculty provided! Hey everyone, hope you're all having a great week 6! This week's meeting was an informative one as we had Dr. Barker come in and explain the background of each field of psychology. We were able to learn about the various career opportunities associated with each branch of psychology. She also provided us with a chart that includes the amount of time in school and the academic requirements of the most common careers within psychology! We hope to see you all at next week's meeting which will also include various faculty in an open forum where members will be able to ask them questions.
Some Reminders!
Hi everyone and happy week 5! For this week we replaced our weekly meeting with a pizza fundraiser in order to raise funds for our club! We had an amazing turnout and sold out before U-hour ended thanks to everyone's help. Thank you to everyone who came out to help us sell pizza and also to those who bought pizza as well!
Hey everyone and happy week 4! I hope you're all are having a great semester so far and you're also enjoying our meetings!
At this week's meeting we did an activity called "Career Vision Boards" that got members to think about what their career and academic aspirations are. This was a fun exercise to do and also acted as a way for members to get to know each other on a deeper and personal level. We loved seeing everyone's goals and can't wait to see everyone achieve them. Some reminders!
Hey everyone, and happy week 3! In this week's meeting our main topic was how to create a curriculum vitae (CV) along with a few other announcements.
Hello everyone! Hope you have all had a great start to your semester! At this weeks meeting we shared about our first social which will be taking place on Tuesday, September 10 behind Building 1 from 4pm-7pmish. We will be eating ice cream, provided by our advisor Dr. Morales, and mingling so come cool down from the summer heat with us!
We also discussed "Brain Day 2020" which is hosted by Dr. Blumenfeld and will be taking place on a day between March 16-22nd. About 600 3rd graders are invited to come learn about the brain through various interactive activities. If you are interested in volunteering for this event and becoming a part of organizing it, meetings will be held every Friday from 1pm-3pm starting this semester. You can also reach out to Dr. Blumenfeld at [email protected] We also discussed membership dues which are $25 for the semester and $40 if you would like to pay for the whole year. These will be due by October 8th! Paying membership dues comes with many benefits such as free socials, free food, a chapter t-shirt, and reimbursement for WPA! We hope to see you all at next week's meeting! Hello Everyone! Hope everybody's first week back was a good one. Also thank you to everyone who came out to our first meeting and made it such a success!! We had so many people show up that we actually ran out of desks for people to sit in! Anyways, if you missed this first meeting don't worry because we just did some brief introductions to our executive board which you can also see if you click on the "About" tab above. Along with the introductions to executive board we discussed the chapter dues which are going to be 40$ for the year and 25$ per semester. Paying your membership dues gives you access to many benefits such as getting a Psi Chi club shirt, getting reimbursed for WPA registration (which is 75$ alone!), and also gets you into our socials for free! The due date for membership dues is October 8th and you can Venmo @PsiChiCpp or bring cash to the meetings! Another activity we did at this week's meeting was writing out all the psychology courses being offered this semester and having members get to know those who are also in their classes so that they could have some familiar faces in their classes! That was all for our first meeting, and the powerpoint that was shown at the meeting is also posted below!
