Joining Psi Chi Cal Poly Pomona Chapter
Psi Chi at Cal Poly Pomona is open to all students interested in the area of Psychology. Anyone can attend or participate in Psi Chi's events and activities. Students can officially join the Cal Poly Pomona Psi Chi chapter for a membership fee of $30 per year. Membership dues help our members enjoy the club and get the most out of it. Chapter dues go towards guest speakers, special events, Psi-chi T-shirts, WPA registration, and scholarship opportunities.

Becoming An International Psi Chi Member
Membership in Psi Chi is open to students who are majoring or minoring in psychology, and attend an institution where a chapter is located. Qualified candidates include those of any age, sex, sexual orientation, race, handicap or disability, color, religion, national and ethnic origin, and who meet the minimum qualifications.The Psi Chi Society membership fee is $55. This one-time fee pays for lifetime Psi Chi membership, a certificate of membership, and a membership card.
The Psi Chi chapter at Cal Poly Pomona holds high standards of personal behavior and attendance at chapter events: 20 participation points are necessary before being considered for International Membership. Undergraduates
- be enrolled as a major or minor in a psychology program (or a program psychological in nature)
- have completed at least 5 quarters (3 semesters) or equivalent of the college course
- have completed at least 14 units (9 semester hours) or equivalent of psychology courses
- have earned an overall GPA that is in the top 35% of their class in general scholarship (minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4-point scale)
- have a minimum 3.0 GPA in psychology courses
Graduate student applicants
- be enrolled in a psychology graduate program
- have completed at least one full semester of graduate coursework
- have an overall GPA of at least 3.00 in all graduate courses, including psychology courses
Transfer student applicants
- follow the same requirements as the undergraduate student applicant
- should complete at least 12 semester hours (or equivalent) at the new institution in order to establish a GPA unless otherwise specified in the chapter's bylaws
Transfer student applicants who are already members of Psi Chi
- contact the Psi Chi faculty advisor at the new institution to complete an online transfer membership form
