Hi there Psi Chi! A huge thanks to those who were in attendance at our general meeting today and for showing out your artistic talents! We spent this meeting creating Rorschach shirts and interacting with one another to relieve all the stress piling up from midterms. We had another great turnout as we continue to introduce new members each week so please come get involved with us! :) We would also like to encourage members to wear your shirts on campus! We've shared a few photos below of the amazing shirts y'all painted today!

Hey y'all!
We want to thank everyone for joining us today for Caitlyn's presentation on ways of getting involved! Remember, every meeting gets you membership points that could translate to financial aid for WPA! If you missed this meeting, don't worry! Here you can find and download all the information Caitlyn presented on. If you'd like the slides and are having complications downloading them, let us know and we'll send them to you. Now, now. Lets tone down the formal vibes. We think it's time for some fun, but we want to hear what you would all be interested in! Please fill out this survey and bring it to the next Psi Chi meeting so we can get a better idea of what you would like from the club. Thanks, y'all! See you at the next meeting! Hello all! We are thrilled by the outcome of this week's meeting with a packed room! We had a very special guest speaker come in, CPP faculty member Dr. Lori Barker, talk to us about the fields within psychology. She gave an in-depth presentation that included the different sub-fields in psychology, as well as different career options you can pursue. We hope her presentation gave you all more of an insight of what exactly you would like pursue with a psychology degree. Thank you to all the students who attended this meeting and for asking so many great questions throughout the presentation! We encourage you all to continue to attend our weekly meetings and engage yourself within this club for any questions that you may have. Also, below we've attached some key notes taken by our very own Conference Chair, Anna Liu, during the presentation! These notes include a chart of the "Careers in the Helping Profession" for any of you interested in pursuing a graduate degree and the specific requirements that are necessary. We hope this helps! Good luck and we hope to see you all next week! :)
Hey y'all! We're approaching the end of week 2 of the Fall Quarter and the stress levels are already rising for most of us as the workload keeps on piling up. We hope this helps and good luck! :)
Hello all!
We would like to thank those who came out to our meeting. We had a great turnout and we hope the high number of attendance continues throughout the year! Our goal is to be a resource to as many students as possible, so this gets us excited knowing many of you are interested and open to what we can provide! During this meeting, we had an election to fill up the Fundraising Chair position. A big shoutout to Julia Lozano and Garland Dyer for their excellent speeches to run for this position as the results were very close. We are proud to announce that Garland Dyer will be our new Fundraising Chair for the 2017-2018 academic year and we are extremely excited to work with him! He has a number of creative ideas to fundraise money for our club so stay tuned. As we still get to know one another, members were given the opportunity to introduce themselves during an icebreaker that our very own event coordinator, Tonie, had set up for us! We are thrilled to have such an ambitious and diverse group of members this year. A platform that we often use to communicate with one another is called "GroupMe." It is an app you can use on your smart device to simply connect and chat with people through group messaging. We use GroupMe as a resource to send important information, deadlines, applications, input on classes or professors, books, and basically anything! If you would like to be added to the Psi Chi GroupMe, please feel free to contact us or we can add you at our next meeting. Also, we are collecting dues at every meeting. You can pay quarterly ($15) or yearly ($35) and we accept cash or you can pay through venmo @PsychedAriana For any questions, comment below or contact us through the "contact" tab at the top of the page. We are looking forward to seeing you all at our next meeting on Tuesday, October 10th, during U-hour (12-1pm). Dr. Barker will be giving an informative presentation on what you can do in Psychology with a BA. We hope you have a great week! |
