It's WPA week folks!!! We hope you're ready for the big weekend that is to come in Portland, OR. We spent this meeting finishing discussing from last week on important information about what to expect at WPA and answering any last minute questions students may have about the trip! There was also some important information discussed about checking into the hotel. The room assignments document that was sent out before has been updated with a section that answers some questions you may have about check-in and check-out.

Here's a link to that document:

Here's a link to the WPA Presentations List of the students who will be presenting:

We did distribute Psi Chi shirts at this meeting today for members who have paid their chapter dues. So if you ordered a shirt, but did not come pick it up then please contact us or an e-board member to get your shirt!

We're looking forward to seeing you all at WPA!!!!!!!

WEEK 4 UPDATES:

Psi Chi president, Sergio Maldonado, gave a presentation about a CV (Curriculum Vitae) and a statement of purpose/personal statement. He discussed what these written documents entail and how to make one for yourself. This is important for students applying for job opportunities or graduate school based on one's experience. Attached below are samples of both documents that Sergio used in the presentation at the meeting.

PS!!! Rooming assignments for WPA have been sent out to members traveling with Psi Chi. As a reminder, in order to keep your rooming spot, you must pay your chapter dues. The faculty-student dinner will cost $15 and the chapter dues for spring membership is $15. The deadline to pay for both the faculty-student dinner costs and the chapter dues is April 18th. You can pay these fees  to our treasurer Ariana through venmo (@PsychedAriana)

WEEK 3 UPDATES:

We had Dr. DeJonghe give a brief powerpoint presentation on what to expect at WPA and how to prepare. She spoke about check-in/registration details, the types of sessions/events (for example, poster and paper sessions), and making the most out of the entire trip at WPA.

We then had students speak in more detail about their conference experience. Meice and Anna spoke on the opportunities to take advantage of and the convention program/schedule. Shea spoke on the tips for creating a poster, such as the do's and don'ts of a poster presentation. Beverly spoke on the best practices for a poster session. Kevon spoke on navigating conversations in the right direction and tips on printing posters and cards. Julia very briefly spoke on essential traveling tips, but the presentation was cut short due to time. To access the powerpoint presentation click the link below:
