Welcome to a new week everyone! It's already Week 5 and it's midterm season. Hope everyone is studying hard!
Well for this week's general meeting we had special guest, Dr. Michael Giang come in to guest speak for Psi Chi. To recap what he said, he first started off explaining a little about himself and where he was from. Dr. Giang was born in Vietnam and currently lives in the Rosemead/Monterey Park area. As for his academics, he attended Mount Sac and then transferred to UCLA. He also studied experimental methods at CSUN and got his masters there. Then he became a professor at Mount St. Mary’s College. Currently, he is teaching here at Cal Poly Pomona, and he’s actually searching for research assistants. To those that are interested in becoming a research assistant for Dr. Giang, email him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
At the end of the meeting, our new E-board were also announced and they are the following:
Social Chair: Isabella Raman
Conference Chair: Raelene Somjit
Community Service Chair: Michael Rhodes
C.L.A.S.S. Representative: Genesis Zamora
Congratulations to our new E-board members, and we're excited to continue this great journey ahead of us! To our candidates, we would like to give a big thank you and a round of applause for your participation and your dedication to Psi Chi. Please don't give up!
Our members that are also apart of Peer Mentors, gave a little introduction about who they are and how they can help the students. If anyone has any questions or concerns with just about anything, Peer Mentors can definitely aid you. Please stop by their office located at the Student Success Center. Don't be afraid!
Other than that, we hope that everyone has a safe and stress-free week. Take care!
