Hello everyone! Happy Week 13!
For this week's general meeting we had an REU panel with our very own Psi Chi members! An REU is Research Experiences for Undergraduates that usually occurs during the summer. This panel was for students to gain more insight about how to apply to an REU and where to look for REU opportunities. Our panelists included Shea Duarte, Jessy Navarro, Beverly Cotter, and Karli Cheng. They each shared their experiences and was able to give valuable tips and advice for our fellow Psi Chi members. Thank you to our panelists!
We hope that this panel was able to help ya'll. Have a great rest of the week everyone!
How are ya'll doing? It is already Week 12! Now that we're in the second half of the semester it seems like the weeks are going by super quick!
Well, for this week's general meeting, our Vice President, Beverly, and President, Jessy, prepared a CV presentation! This presentation is definitely an informative one and will help members who are interested and going into graduate school or academia. This in-depth presentation touched base onto what is a curriculum vitae, the difference between one and a resume, and tips on how to construct a great CV! Beverly even showed the members her very own CV and Jessy also shared his resume. These were both very great examples, and hopefully the members were able to find the presentation useful!
If you missed out on this important presentation, the presentation is linked down below for you to look at. Please feel free to ask any questions if you have any!
Have a great week everyone!
Happy Week 11 everyone! It's almost the end of the semester... can ya'll believe it?
Well, for today's meeting, Raelene our Conference Chair prepared a very informative presentation about the Western Psychological Conference (WPA). It a psychology conference that is held every year. For this year's WPA it will be held in Pasadena! The conference will be much closer compared to last year, which was held in Portland, Oregon. Nonetheless, it is still going to be a great experience! We recommend all of our members to attend, but of course it is not mandatory. You also don't need to present to be able to attend! You'll be able to learn so much from others from this conference!
We hope that ya'll consider going to WPA academic year. There will be more information as the date gets closer, but we'll make sure to keep updating ya'll.
Thank you! Have a great rest of the week!
Good morning everyone! Can ya'll believe that it's already week 10? We know that it's midterm season, so make sure to take great care of yourselves!
For these past couple of weeks we have had great guest speakers come in and give their presentations to Psi Chi, and we are so honored and thankful for every single one of them. However, for this week's meeting we decided to take a little break from the presentations and do something a little more fun and laid back. We took a personality test to figure out our personality types, and at the end, we got into our personality groups and just shared our similarities and differences! It was so nice to see everyone bond and know each other a little more. If you didn't attend the meeting, but would like to know your personality type you can visit https://www.16personalities.com/.
We also passed out our new Psi Chi shirts to those who paid their yearly dues! If you have paid your yearly dues, but didn't get a chance to come to the meeting to come get your shirt, then you can let anyone of the E=board members know and we can give it to you. If not, then you can always get them at our next meeting!
Hope ya'll have a great rest of the week. Take care everyone!
